Introduction
LMR Solutions assists and guide your team through the deployment of an enterprise project management solution that will allow you to manage and control both short term and long term projects.
Technical Approach
LMR Solutions, in partnership your Project Team will tailor and deploy your Enterprise Project Management System to provide dynamic web based and custom enterprise project management planning, tracking, organizational and reporting capabilities. Using a phased approach (MSF – Microsoft Solutions Framework), LMR Solutions, in partnership with your Deployment Team, will utilize the Enterprise Implementation Framework (EIF) to gather and document information regarding implementation of your EPM Solution.
Project Team
LMR Solutions will support your Microsoft Project Server Deployment with personnel who possess the specific Microsoft Project technical skills and professional project management and business methodology background required to successfully deploy your Enterprise Project Management system.
- A qualified and skillful Project Manager will be your single point of contact.
- A Technical Lead will focus on taking responsibility for the design, customization and deployment of Microsoft Project Server.
- We will assign technicians to accomplish appropriate programming and configuration tasks as the customization and configuration requires.
- Our Project Manager will provide weekly written status reports that will include accomplishments, issues and concerns, future resource needs, upcoming risks to the project, future plans and project plan deviations.
The phases outlined in the technical approach are broken into discrete stages mapped to tangible deliverables:
Planning
The planning phase marks the system design stage of your project. During this phase, LMR Solutions will review the information and deliverables of the envisioning phase, such as functional specifications, and system configuration.
As part of this phase, LMR Solutions will review other requirementswith your team such as hardware and software requirements. The planning phase also includes business process development which will correlate your business processes with EPM procedures. The design process gives the team a systematic way to work from abstract concepts down to specific technical detail. This begins with a systematic analysis of user profiles which describe various types of users and their job functions (operations staff are users too).
These are broken into a series of usage scenarios, where a particular type of user is attempting to complete a type of activity, such as scheduling and building project plans. Each usage scenario is broken into a specific sequence of tasks, known as use cases, which the user performs to complete that activity. The results of this critical exercise are the System Design and System policies and procedures.
Development
During the developing phase LMR Solutions accomplishes most of the configuration and\or building of the EPM solution. However, some development work may continue into the stabilization phase as a response to testing. The developing phase involves more than installation and configuration. The existing IT infrastructure will also be reviewed during this phase. In this case, your team will be responsible for any infrastructure requirements needed to enable and support the EPM solution.
Support
LMR Solutions is dedicated to the successful deployment of your Enterprise Project Management Solution (EPMS). To that end, LMR Solutions will continue to guide and support your team through structured end-user workshops as well as User and Approval Board workgroups. The purpose of this support is to ensure that your team continues to fully benefit from its Enterprise Project Management Solution deployment through an organized and proven process.
Training
LMR Solutions will provide classroom style training for the EPM team in a workshop environment. The training sessions for Microsoft Project Professional and Microsoft Project Web Access are focused on a standard-use application of the tool for Project Managers, Resource Managers, Team Members, and Executives.
All training classes can be conducted onsite and/or online.
